Hello, and welcome to my first blog post under hair and skincare. This week's skincare tip is an Acne Scar Fading Mask. I've used this mask before and it works really well for me, so I hope you enjoy!
*Disclaimer: If you are allergic to any of the ingredients below or you don't know if your skin is too sensitive for this mask please DO NOT use it. Thank you.
What you'll need:
1/2 cup of oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 cup of water
Process:
1. On a stove bring the 1 cup of water to a medium low heat.
2. Add the 1/2 cup of oatmeal and 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice
3. Stir and let cook for about 1 minute
4. Remove from heat and let cool
5. Then add the 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
6. Combine well and set aside
7. Wash your face thoroughly and pat dry
8. Apply the mask to your face and let sit for 20 minutes
9. Wash the mask off with lukewarm water and pat dry
10. Apply a facial moisturizer to re-hydrate the skin
11. You're done!
How Often:
Do this mask once a week for a month, then after one month has passed do the mask once a month for three months.
Tips:
I suggest using this mask at night instead of during the day. After applying the mask try not to go into the sun for a few hours. The lemon in the mask can harm your skin if it comes in contact with the sun's rays directly after the mask if removed. Doing this at night is the best option but if it must be done during the day try avoid the sun for a few hours.
